A. Lange & Söhne brings German charm to Old Bond Street
German luxury watchmaker A. Lange & Söhne has opened a new flagship boutique in the heart of London’s Mayfair.
Located on Old Bond Street, the four-storey destination marks the brand’s eighth global flagship, joining cities like New York, Dubai, and Shanghai.
The new boutique offers a deep dive into Saxon horology, blending historic London aesthetics with contemporary German precision.
The brand has stated that the boutique is designed to be an immersive experience rather than a traditional retail space. The ground floor features a brand history and a club-style lounge illuminated by a natural sky window. The first floor showcases hand-finished components of the award-winning Zeitwerk and other complicated movements. The second floor is a bespoke VIP lounge, while the third floor is home to an in-house watchmaker providing direct insight into the brand’s craft.
Although A. Lange & Söhne is a German brand, this London boutique in some ways marks a return to the brand’s roots. CEO Wilhelm Schmid highlighted the significance of the location, noting that founder Ferdinand Adolph Lange first introduced his watches to the global stage at the 1851 World Exhibition in London.
“The club-style lounge is a friendly nod to the ever-growing community of A. Lange & Söhne collectors in the UK,” says Schmid. “London played a decisive role in the brand’s international success in the mid-19th century.”
