AP’s art programme commissions first painting on the South Bank
Swiss artist Renée Levi will transform the exterior of the brutalist Hayward Gallery on London’s South Bank this autumn with a two-panel painting co-commissioned by Audemars Piguet Contemporary — the Swiss watch brand’s dedicated art programme.
The installation, which will be Levi’s debut large-scale public art installation in the United Kingdom, opens to the public on 23 September and runs through 15 November.
The work will utilise an industrial mesh support to adapt to the brutalist building’s windows, protrusions, and geometry.
The project also represents the first painting ever commissioned by the Audemars Piguet Contemporary programme.
