Basilia in Basel confirms dates will coincide with Geneva
Following the announcement by Watches and Wonders that its 2027 dates will be April 5-11, new exhibition Basilia in Basel has now confirmed that it will take place on April 8-11.
Taking place in Hall 2 of Messe Basel, the event’s organisers — MCH Group, formerly of Baselworld fame, and Informa Markets Asia — made it clear when they announced the new show two weeks ago that it would be piggybacking on Watches and Wonders, so this news comes as no surprise.
“Basel will become the centre of the international jewellery and watch world from 8 to 11 April 2027,” claimed Roman Imgrüth, CEO exhibitions & events at MCH Group. “Our new fair, Basilia, complements the existing ecosystem and creates a marketplace open to the entire industry.”
Informa Markets’ vice president for strategic initiatives in Asia, Dan Ye, agreed: “Basilia isn’t just another fair — it’s a platform built with intention, designed for buyers with a clear mission. Our April timing creates natural synergy within Switzerland’s trade calendar and positions us perfectly within the global jewellery circuit.”
The composition of the exhibiting brands at Basilia is not yet known, as no exhibitors have been announced. But at the launch press conference the organisers said that they expected over 400 exhibitors at a ratio of: 50% jewellery, 25% gems, 25% watches.
