Bell & Ross goes through the looking glass with its new model

Bell & Ross has released the latest interpretation of its BR-05 timepiece, the “Mirror Steel”.

Limited to 250 pieces, it is made solely from stainless steel, from its dial to its casing to its indices. It’s mirror polished to both capture and diffract light, with the idea of introducing a new sense of style to the utilitarian material.

“All surfaces are polished, transforming the dial into a mirror with a thousand reflections,” explains Bruno Belamich, co-founder and creative director of the brand.

“The polished hands resemble droplets or threads of mercury floating above a lake. The mirror-polished dial, along with the polished-satin case and bracelet, make the BR-05 Mirror a work of horological art – a mono-material, monochrome, monobloc sculpture. A jewel-watch that is both pure and futuristic,” he concluded.

In accordance with the timepiece’s minimalist aesthetic, the model has no date window, with its automatic movement, calibre BR-CAL.321-1, modified to exclude a date mechanism.

The 44mm watch is 10.5mm thick, with a sapphire caseback revealing the oscillating rotor rotating 360°. Two strap options are available: a full polished-satin steel bracelet or a black rubber strap with a polished-satin steel deployant buckle.

The Mirror Steel is priced at £5,300 on the steel bracelet, and £4,800 on the rubber strap.
