Birks Group director cites personal reasons for sudden resignation

Canada’s biggest luxury jeweller, Birks Group, has announced the resignation of Emilio B. Imbriglio as a director.

Citing personal reasons for why he’s resigned, the decision to step down is effective as of yesterday.

Imbriglio had served on the board since 2022 and had stated that he wasn’t planning on standing for re-election at the annual shareholders meeting in September.

“The Board of Directors thanks Emilio for his contributions to the Company and guidance he has provided during his tenure,” said executive chairman of the board and interim CEO, Niccolò Rossi di Montelera.

The company recently reported its financials for the most recent fiscal year, with turnover increasing +15.5% year-on-year.
