Bryan Moeller named president of the American Gem Society

Third generation co-owner of R.F. Moeller Bryan Moeller has been announced as the 45th president of the American Gem Society (AGS).

Founded in 1934, the AGS is a nonprofit trade association dedicated to consumer protection, ethical business practices, and high gemological standards.

The formal acceptance of the position was made at the society’s annual conference, with the R.F. Moeller team also in attendance.

Speaking at the conference, Moeller said: “My family’s journey with the American Gem Society actually began long before mine. We became members in 1979, and over the years AGS became part of the fabric of our family and our family business.

“To me, the American Gem Society isn’t simply an organization for elite jewelers. It’s a framework for how we live, how we make decisions, and how we run our business,” he continued.

“It shapes our values and our culture. The culture we pass on to our 43 team members. Each one of them knows we have one rule: ‘Take care of our client. Do what’s right, even if it’s hard. Even if it’s not profitable.’

“Robert Shipley [founder of the AGS, who also established the Gemological Institute of America] had the vision to educate the jewelry industry and encourage it to act with integrity. Today, I have the incredible honor of standing here as one of four multi-generational Presidents of the American Gem Society.”
