Children’s charity at the center of Alexander Shorokhoff’s new limited edition
Alexander Shorokhoff has created a 10-piece limited edition jumping-hour watch that will raise money for children suffering from rheumatic diseases.
The new M.I.K.E. is being launched in support of Biker Charity Run Süd, with €500 from every €4,990 watch sold donated directly to the Rheumatology Children’s Hospital in Garmisch-Partenkirchen.
The initiative raises money for children with rheumatic diseases and supports the hospital, which specialises in treating these conditions.
M.I.K.E. stands for Mission, Inspiration, Kindness and Empathy, while the name Mike is derived from Michael and its Russian diminutive Mischa, which translates as “bear”.
The bear is also the identifying symbol of Biker Charity Run Süd and has been incorporated subtly into the watch using fine guilloché patterns and relief-like structures to create the impression of a bear.
Powering the watch is a Dubois Dépraz 14400A automatic movement with jumping hours which features 25 jewels and offers a 40-hour power reserve.
Hours are displayed through a window at 12 o’clock, with central minutes and small seconds at six o’clock.
The steel case measures 43.5mm across and 11.3mm thick and is water resistant to 5 ATM.
