Christopher Ward’s new C1 Loco Classic shortlisted for 2026 GPHG award
Christopher Ward has secured another Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève (GPHG) nomination, with its upcoming C1 Loco Classic.
The yet-to-be-launched watch is named among the six finalists in the 2026 Petite Aiguille category, meaning the British watchmaker will compete against Frédérique Constant, Massena LAB, MING, Otsuka Lotec and TAG Heuer for the prize.
The category recognises watches priced between CHF 4,500 and CHF 10,000.
Commenting on the nomination, the brand’s CEO and co-founder, Mike France, said: “We’re hugely proud to see the C1 Loco Classic recognised by the GPHG Academy, particularly in a category with such a strong field of competing watches.”
Adding: “The fact that this recognition comes before the watch has even reached customers makes it all the more interesting.”
The nomination also provides an early look at the C1 Loco Classic ahead of its official launch on October 15.
The 41mm watch is the latest addition to Christopher Ward’s Atelier series and is powered by the hand-wound CW-003 movement, offering a six-day, 144-hour power reserve and a stated timing tolerance of -0/+7 seconds per day.
Initially shown in an Oro colourway, two further colours will be unveiled at launch alongside a new 904L stainless-steel bracelet developed specifically for the model.
Prices will start from £4,495, with prospective customers now able to register their interest ahead of October’s launch.
The winner of the 2026 Petite Aiguille prize will be revealed at the GPHG awards ceremony in Geneva in November.
