Citizen delivers dive watch classic in more compact size
Citizen has released a fresh trio of Promaster Dive watches that hits a sweet spot for toolwatch enthusiasts.
Hitting shelves over the next couple of weeks, this new lineup is a more compact option for dive watch fans compared to previous Promasters.
The collection lands in three distinct colorways — classic black, deep blue, and crisp white. The white dial represents a major technical milestone for Citizen, as these watches run on the brand’s light-powered Eco-Drive E168 movement. Therefore the dial usually needs to be translucent enough to let light pass through to the solar cell underneath.
But Citizen has significantly improved light penetration, and the result is a clean white dial that doesn’t compromise the movement’s charging efficiency.
Coming in at 40.6 mm in diameter and 11.5 mm in thickness, the watches have upgraded the crystal to anti-reflective sapphire, which helps with legibility and scratch resistance.
Featuring a proper rotating bezel and a full ISO-certified 200-meter water resistance rating, these watches come with new, vintage-inspired rubber straps available in blue, gray, and green.
