Day 1 of Geneva Watch Days arrives in sun-drenched Switzerland
Geneva Watch Days has finally landed, and the weather has chosen to behave itself on day one in the Swiss city.
With the sun shining and a record number of confirmed exhibitors participating, the next five days promise to be full of newness and networking.
Now in its seventh year, Geneva Watch Days was initially seen as an important antidote to draconian government lockdowns, but has since survived and thrived, growing in scale each year.
68 brands are taking part in the decentralised event, including the likes of Breitling, Corum, Doxa, Fears, Frederique Constant, Konstantin Chaykin, and Oris.
“This year, Geneva Watch Days enters a new cycle of development, while remaining true to the spirit that has driven it since its creation: openness, innovation, decentralization and proximity,” said Jean-Christophe Babin, president of Geneva Watch Days.
“What began as a bold initiative in the year of Covid, to compensate for the cancellation of the traditional watch fairs, has become an unmissable event, carried forward by an ever more engaged community of brands, collectors, partners and enthusiasts,” he continued.
“This edition strengthens the ties between watchmaking and its ecosystem, in Geneva and internationally. We remain convinced that nothing replaces real encounters, real conversations and the emotions shared around our creations. It is this collective energy that makes Geneva Watch Days unique, and that keeps us moving forward.”
