Dior expands its Grand Soir Automate La Roseraie collection

Dior has added five new designs to its Grand Soir Automate La Roseraie collection.

With updates adding greens, blues, purples and diamond adorned models, the collection continues to pay tribute to Christian Dior’s childhood home in Granville, which is said to have shaped his creativity.

The dial illustrates the family home set within a dreamlike garden of mother-of-pearl leaves and golden branches that outline the contours of a pathway.

Nestled at the heart of a precious tableau, the facade of the family home can be seen in the background.

The watch can be brought to life by the automaton too. Upon pressing the button located in the crown, the dial is animated for 30 seconds by a spectacle of moving golden hand-engraved bees, butterflies and hummingbirds.

In putting together the timepiece, creators dedicated 46 hours to setting, hand-engraving, miniature painting and feather cutting for the dial.
