Dior pays homage to Lunar New Year
Dior has unveiled a new limited edition timepiece in celebration of the Lunar New Year.
The release is an annual affair for the brand, whose Dior Grand Soir collection explores each sign from the lunar calendar.
For this year’s Year of the Horse, Dior has released a unique piece with a dial displaying the Toile de Jouy motif, with the animal moving through an enchanted forest.
The design is created in mother-of-pearl, gold, and colourful stones.
Dior is not the first to jump on the trend. The market is inundated with Year of the Horse tributes.
IWC Shaffhausen recently unveiled its Portugieser Automatic 42 Year of the Horse, featuring a gold rotor in the shape of the animal visible through a sapphire case back.
Harry Winston paired a red horse figure on the dial with a red alligator leather strap, and Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso have kept it classy with the Reverso Tribute Enamel Horse.
