Dior takes Indian and French inspiration with latest watch launch

Dior has launched the Grand Bal Nuit des Indes collection, a tribute to modern watchmaking and traditional craftsmanship that combines 18th-century Parisian architecture with the colours of India.

Powered by the signature ‘Dior Inversé’ calibre, the timepieces place their functional oscillating weight on top of the dial rather than behind it. 

Across the face of each watch, detailed mesh patterns on the oscillating weight create a kaleidoscope effect as it moves — a nod to needlework traditions shared across both cultures.

Framing the dial, a square bezel set with baguette diamonds or sapphires gives each piece a modern geometric boundary, while delicate gold beading, a band of brilliant-cut diamonds, and a central rose-cut diamond detail the crown.

The new Dior Grand Bal Nuit des Indes watch is priced at 540,000 CHF.
