Eco-Drive takes centre stage at spectacular New York party
Citizen has continued to celebrate the 50th anniversary of its world-leading solar technology Eco-Drive in style, launching two new special editions and hosting a party for the ages at New York’s world-famous Guggenheim Museum.
Journalists, retailers, and Citizen staff members from across the world flew in to the big event last night, with President of Citizen Watch America Jeffrey Cohen addressing the crowd and thanking them for their time.
The launches include two limited edition Eco-Drive Photon watches, powered by the new Eco-Drive Cal. E036 movement. This is the movement that can keep the watch running for a year on a single power reserve. It also utilizes the lightweight and scratch-resistant Super Titanium™ that Citizen has become famous for.
Color-wise, the limited edition Photon comes in a silver-tone with a yellow second hand, or black-and-gold with a purple second hand.

‘The Citizen’
There will also be a new version of ‘The Citizen,’ which comes in a striking chitose midori green color, inspired by pine needles.
Powered again by an Eco-Drive movement that gives astonishing annual accuracy of ±5 seconds, The Citizen is also armed with Super Titanium™.
“For 50 years, Eco-Drive has led the world in light-powered watchmaking technology,” said Jeffrey Cohen, President of Citizen Watch America. “We are the first, the market leader, and the ‘market maker’ of this entire category of watches. Others have tried and failed, but not us. We continue to evolve Eco-Drive to unlock new possibilities in design, performance, and sustainability for all Citizens of the World
