Frederique Constant sees the light with new solar-powered release
Swiss watch brand Frederique Constant has unleashed its new solar FC-120 calibre for the first time.
The movement, which was developed in collaboration with La Joux-Perret, will be housed in the Classics Moneta Solarmetre.
With the solar movement virtually invisible below the dial, the watch preserves the signature retro-modern design codes of the Classics Moneta collection, which launched with success in 2024.
The Solarmetre variant introduces a grained-effect dial, available in burgundy, ice blue, and cloud white, housed in a 39 mm case.
The science behind the new solar movement is compelling, with the watch offering up to 10 months of power reserve even in total darkness, and only requiring 10 seconds of light exposure to restart.
The Frederique Constant Classics Moneta Solarmetre watch is priced at £995 / $1,195.
