Frederique Constant unveils GPHG-nominated mechanical first

Already shortlisted by the 2026 Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève (GPHG) Academy in the Challenge category, Frederique Constant’s new Classics Moneta Handwinding is the first mechanical model in the Classics Moneta collection.

Featuring a 38.5 mm case, the watch retains the signature coin-edge fluted inner rehaut that defines the line. 

It is powered by a custom hand-wound calibre developed by parent company Citizen Group’s own La Joux-Perret, beating at 4 Hz with a 63-hour power reserve.  

The dial adopts a vintage 1950s aesthetic, showcasing a smoked salmon gradient fading to black, complemented by dauphine hands and a small seconds subdial at 6 o’clock. 

Paired with a small-scale patterned black alligator leather strap, the watch is limited to just 999 pieces and priced at £1,795 / $2,595.
