French watchmaking makes its case in Munich
Fresh from two consecutive months where Swiss watch exports to France showed the highest year-on-year growth out of any of the top 10 countries, French brands punched above their weight at the recent Inhorgenta fair in Munich.
Key players in French watchmaking, such as Herbelin and Yema, showcased their wares under the umbrella of French watch industry trade body, Francéclat.
Alongside Herbelin and Yema, the Francéclat-organised French Pavilion at Inhorgenta also included Pierre Lannier, Kelton, Lip, Depancel, and Rochet Group.
It served as a brilliant showcase of what French watchmaking has to offer, with 1.5 million watches produced by the French each year.
In an industry dominated by the Swiss, and, to a lesser extent, the Japanese and the Germans, French watchmaking is making an increasingly compelling case for being taken very seriously.
