Gerald Charles introduces the Maestro 2.0 Meteorite

The distinctive “Maestro” case was first designed by Gérald Genta in 2005, and is said to be one of the iconic watch designer’s final creations.

Its latest iteration is the Maestro 2.0 Meteorite, Gerald Charles’s first meteorite watch with a small-seconds indicator. It comes in two models, both designed by Octavio Garcia, who worked with Genta.

The design of the watches is supposed to evoke the moment a meteor crashes to earth. The black model, the Maestro 2.0 Meteorite Darkblast, embodies the impact itself, with the meteorite dial revealing flashes of red from the anodized baseplate, and the seconds indicator at 6 o’clock depicting the blast.

The other model, the Maestro 2.0 Meteorite Silver, represents the stillness after impact, when matter cools and crystallizes, pairing a silver meteorite dial with gold accents and a polished steel case.

In both models, the Roman numerals and indexes appear shifted in response to the meteor’s impact.

The material used for the Maestro 2.0 originates from the Muonionalusta meteorite, estimated to have fallen in northern Sweden over 4.5 billion years ago.

“Honouring Mr. Genta also means honouring his pioneering use of steel and the creative spirit it unleashed,” says Federico Ziviani, CEO.

“At Gerald Charles, reshaping history is part of our philosophy of uniqueness – and the Maestro 2.0 Meteorite embodies this vision. These watches are not simply made with meteorite; they tell the story of its journey. By sculpting a billion-year-old meteorite into the iconic Maestro form, we bring cosmic history into the present, turning a fragment of the universe into wearable art.”
