Go-ahead given for new Nottingham Goldsmiths store
A major new Goldsmiths showroom in Nottingham has been given the planning green light.
The store, which is owned by Watches of Switzerland Group, will occupy the space at 44 Bridlesmith Gate.
Documents from the planning process and application say that the scheme represents a “positive and proportionate improvement” on what’s there now.
The proposed alterations to doors and windows are relatively minor and the company hopes will elevate the aesthetic of the building without undermining its character.
Whether the current Goldsmiths store on Victoria Street will continue to trade once the Bridlesmith Gate shop is open is not clear. Watch Insider has asked Watches of Switzerland Group for comment.
