GPHG opens entries for 2026 as it drops gender categories
Entries are officially open for the 26th edition of the Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève (GPHG).
Watch brands have until 19 June to submit their nominations, based on the several hundred models that the GPHG Academy’s thousand members have proposed.
This year sees the creation of three new categories: Essential Watch, Complication Watch, and Gemset Watch, controversially replacing the men’s and women’s categories that existed before.
Notoriously opaque in its processes, the GPHG Jury — this year chaired by Revolution’s Wei Koh — will meet behind closed doors to discuss the merits of the 84 models that are still in the running in the summer, before a final list of winners is decided, based also on a second electronic ballot of the Academy’s members.
The big night itself takes place on November 7 at the Bâtiment des Forces Motrices in Geneva. It is sandwiched by the UK Watch Awards on October 20 and the US Watch Awards on November 23.
