HSNY honors London Jewelers as it scoops another major award

The Horological Society of New York (HSNY) celebrated its 160th anniversary on Saturday night at the world famous Plaza Hotel in Manhattan.

Its annual gala, where it awards its watchmaking scholarships and holds its auction, was particularly special for Manhasset retail powerhouse London Jewelers.

The company was awarded the Centennial Recognition Award, as acknowledgement of its 100th anniversary.

“This recognition is a testament to the continued support of our clients, partners, and community over the past 100 years,” London Jewelers posted on its LinkedIn page. “A proud and meaningful moment for the Udell family and London Jewelers as we look ahead to the future.”

HSNY was effusive in its praise for the business, which had recently also scooped a Lifetime Achievement Award at the GEM Awards. “For a century, London Jewelers has served as a trusted destination for watch and jewelry enthusiasts, supporting the art and craft of fine watchmaking and bringing horology to generations of collectors. We recognize their enduring legacy and their role in fostering appreciation for the watchmaking arts,” HSNY said.

“The Charles London Scholarship for Watchmaking Students is made possible through the generous support of London Jewelers.”

London Jewelers recently spoke with Watch Insider about the journey that the company has been on over the past century to get to where it is today.
