Huge year-on-year sales and profit growth for Seiko
Seiko Group Corporation has reported its financial results for Q1 of its 2026 fiscal year, with its watch business recording net sales up +34% and operating profit up +77% year-on-year (YoY).
This spectacular performance continues the recent trend of the Japanese ‘big three’ — Seiko, Citizen, and Casio — outperforming many of the major Swiss groups.
The raw numbers were ¥63 billion (approximately $396 million) in net sales and ¥13.3 billion (approximately $84 million).
Growth was up across all regions and across both Grand Seiko and its other brands, including Prospex, Presage, 5 Sports.
The barnstorming numbers sent an already charging share price even higher, up +17% in the day and up +392% over the course of the past 12 months.
Its financial results for the whole 2025 fiscal year, as reported by Watch Insider back in May, showed net sales up +10% and operating profit up +32%.
