India-based Titan produces one of the world’s thinnest movements
India-based Titan has introduced its latest horological innovation: the Edge UltraSlim Mechanical, featuring one of the world’s thinnest mechanical movements.
At the centre of the watch is the open-worked Calibre Edge 903, measuring just 2.2 mm thick.
To enable the ultra-slim Titan re-engineered the motion-work architecture — utilising lateral energy transmission and an anti-backlash mechanism — to drive a pair of symmetrical rotating discs that display the time.
The open-worked calibre features matte anthracite bridges, sunray- and satin-finished wheels, polished bevels, and titanium-toned screws, visible through both the front dial layout and an exhibition sapphire caseback.
India is playing an increasingly signficant role in the global watch industry, with recent Swiss watch export data, with exports to the country up 50% in June 2026 compared with June 2024.
