Industry legend calls it a day
Industry stalwart Paul Thurlow will be hanging up his watch roll for the last time in February.
The Oris legend, who has been with the brand for a quarter of a century, will be retiring on 28th February 2026.
A statement from Oris said: “Over the course of his career at Oris, Paul has played a significant role in the business and has been instrumental in building strong, trusted relationships with our retail partners. As a brand representative he has been known for his supportive, collaborative approach and deep knowledge of the brand, making a lasting impact in the industry.
“Furthermore, as a personable friend to all, he will be greatly missed by colleagues and partners alike – his stories, charm, and good-natured humour deepen the legacy he will leave behind,” the statement continued.
“We would like to take this opportunity to thank Paul for his dedication, loyalty, and outstanding contribution to Oris.”
On a personal note, I had the good fortune of spending many an evening at Baselworld with Paul, and his penchant for humorous anecdotes was second-to-none. In a career where he must have encountered his fair share of setbacks, he still always managed to lift my spirits when I was in his company.
I’ll miss him, and so will the industry at large.
