IWC Schaffhausen lights up Watches and Wonders with new luminous timepiece

IWC Schaffhausen has revealed an exclusive luminous timepiece at Watches and Wonders in Geneva this week.

The design is limited to 250 pieces and uses IWC’s luminous ceramic technology, Ceralume.

The Big Pilot’s Watch Perpetual Calendar Ceralume features a 46.5 mm case made of luminous white ceramic. The luminous material means that in daylight the piece is white and grey, but in darkness the watch transforms to emit a blue glow.

The calendar module is powered by the IWC manufactured 52616 calibre and features a Pellaton winding system reinforced with components made of wear-free ceramic. The movement stores a power reserve of 168 hours.

Ceralume technology is the result of a multi-year development effort by IWC’s engineering division XPL, which was supported by experts from RC Tritec.

The timepiece is complete with a white luminous rubber strap and a stainless-steel folding clasp. The model retails at £61,300 / $76,300.

Tudor also went big at Watches and Wonders this week, reviving its Monarch. Read more on that HERE:
