Jacob & Co. unveils The Godfather Part II inspired watch

Jacob & Co. has unveiled a watch inspired by Francis Ford Coppola’s The Godfather Part II.

The design comes after Jacob & Co.’s success with its initial Godfather pieces influenced by Coppola’s first film in the trilogy.

The new addition, titled The Godfather II, plays two melodies from The Godfather score: “The Godfather’s Waltz” and “The Godfather Love Theme”.

Retailing at $440,000, the timepiece stands as a tribute to founder Jacob Arabo’s favorite film. The Godfather II is limited to 74 pieces, a reference to the film’s 1974 release.

“The Godfather Part II is one of those rare sequels as strong as the original,” said Jacob Arabo, chairman and founder of Jacob & Co. “We’ve put so much thought and creativity into this second opus that we believe it’s a worthy sequel.”

Powered by the new JCAM62 caliber, the heart of the piece is an intricate music box system built around a comb and cylinder. A detailed portrait of Marlon Brando as Don Corleone anchors the dial, and the crown features spiral grooves reminiscent of a gun barrel with Corleone’s rose motif engraved along the case.

For Arabo, the films hold personal weight: “When I came to the U.S. in 1979, I was 14 and didn’t speak the language. It took me two years to afford a movie ticket. The Godfather was the first film I saw in a theater.”
