Jacob & Co. update Bugatti Tourbillon with sapphire crystal
Two years after introducing the Bugatti Tourbillon and one year after the Bugatti Tourbillon Baguette, Jacob & Co. is aiming to elevate the original with a case of transparent sapphire crystal.
A tribute to Bugatti’s hypercar, Jacob & Co. produced a miniature V16 engine block for the piece, which can be seen from every angle with 360-degree transparency.
The first series of the Bugatti Tourbillon Sapphire Crystal comprises of two unique pieces: one is rendered in Jacob & Co.’s signature green, and the other comes in founder Jacob Arabo’s favourite baby blue.
The case also shares the same shape as the Bugatti Tourbillon: the side windows, the horseshoe-shaped grille, the taillight grid, and the built-in V16 engine-shaped automaton all echo the $4.5 million automobile.
Powered by the Caliber JCAM55, the watch houses a 30-second tourbillon, the fastest Jacob & Co. has ever produced, as a tribute to the car’s 276-mph top speed.
The timepiece retails at $1,200,000 and comes with an interchangeable rubber strap with a rose gold and titanium deployment clasp.
