Jaeger-LeCoultre introduces High Precision Guarantee seal

Jaeger-LeCoultre has introduced a new proprietary certification standard designed to assess both chronometric performance and movement finishing.

The High Precision Guarantee (HPG) Seal debuted with the Master Control Chronometre collection at Watches and Wonders 2026 and will begin rolling out across the wider Jaeger-LeCoultre portfolio from 2027.

Its testing programme is designed to simulate real-world wear, covering altitude, multi-directional shocks, changes in position, and temperature fluctuations.

A dedicated HPG machine combines these stresses through a three-day cycle, including two days of simulated active wear followed by a period of stationary rest.

The seal also sets requirements for movement decoration, with qualifying watches required to feature at least six of eight traditional finishing techniques including bevelling, burnishing, Côtes de Genève, perlage, and polished screw heads.

The HPG name first appeared on the Polaris II in 1970, while Jaeger-LeCoultre later introduced its 1,000 Hours Control programme in 1992.

For the Master Control Chronometre collection, each calibre is first COSC-certified before undergoing Jaeger-LeCoultre’s additional HPG testing process.

Earlier this month, Jaeger-LeCoultre announce Robert Pattinson as its new global ambassador.
