Jewelers Vigilance Committee elects new chair of the board
The Jewelers Vigilance Committee (JVC) in the US has elected Julie Yoakum, president of Kay Jewelers in the States and Peoples Jewellers in Canada — both owned by Signet Jewelers — as chairperson of its board of directors.
The JVC is a non-profit legal trade association that acts as the primary watchdog for the jewelry, diamond, and watch industries.
The board has a broad range of skills and experience on it, spanning retail, manufacturing, education, communications, merchandising, insurance, and supply-chain operations.
Mark Goldberg of Rolex Watch USA is treasurer and finance committee chair, while other board members and/or officers include Lisa Lackland of Ben Bridge, Charlie Green of Lux Bond & Green, and Steven Holtzman of C.D. Peacock.
“The [JVC] plays a critical role in protecting trust across our industry,” said Yoakum. “I am honored to serve alongside such a thoughtful group of leaders as we continue to support businesses and uphold the standards that matter to consumers.”
