Junghans brings colour to the track
Junghans has officially unveiled the 1972 Chronoscope Sports Edition 2026, marking the third installment in its popular limited-edition series.
Moving away from the traditional greys of previous years, the German watchmaker has introduced a high-contrast palette of orange, turquoise, and light green, signalling the direction of travel for the brand’s 2026 collection.
Each colourway is limited to 200 examples worldwide, targeting collectors and motorsport enthusiasts alike.
The 2026 edition leans heavily into Junghans’ historical ties to motorsport. Each matte-finished dial features double “racing stripes” running vertically—lacquered black for the orange variant and dynamic white for the turquoise and green models.
A prominent numeral “6” occupies the sub-dial position, styled as a racing start number, while the brand’s historical logo sits at 12 o’clock.
Featuring a counterclockwise rotating bezel, a uniquely shaped crown, pushers integrated into the case geometry, and perforated leather straps designed to mimic traditional vintage driving gloves, the 1972 Chronoscope Sports Edition 2026 is designed from top to bottom for petrol heads.
