Kari Voutilainen steps back from Urban Jürgensen role
Urban Jürgensen has announced that Kari Voutilainen is stepping down as Co-CEO to become a board member and senior strategic advisor.
The move allows Voutilainen to relinquish daily operations and focus on what he calls his “true passions,” namely watch design and bench work.
Alex Rosenfield, who has served as Co-CEO since 2021, takes over as the brand’s sole chief. Additionally, Venla Voutilainen will depart her role as COO to work more closely with her father.
Executive chairman Andrew Rosenfield credited Voutilainen with shaping the brand’s award-winning new chapter, including the GPHG-winning UJ-2, and affirmed his confidence in Alex Rosenfield to lead the brand’s 250-year legacy.
“This role allows me much more time for designing and making watches,” Voutilainen said. “I look forward to my continued role with this historic brand.”
