Konstantin Chaykin top of the lots at Phillips’ $140k charity auction
The charity auction organised by Phillips raised CHF 115,500 at Geneva Watch Days this week.
The six-figure sum will support l’École d’Horlogerie de Genève, Switzerland’s oldest school of watchmaking, with all proceeds going directly to the institution.
Taking place on September 3, the Phillips in Association with Bacs & Russo auction was the fourth annual charity auction held by the organisation.
It featured 16 one-of-a-kind lots, each a unique object or exclusive experience that was generously donated by one of the brands participating in the Geneva Watch Days event.
The top lot of the evening auction was a unique watch design by Konstantin Chaykin, which achieved CHF 24,000.
This contributed significantly to the final CHF 115,500 sum, roughly £105,492 ($142,698 USD), raised during the sale which will go to the Pierre Amstutz Fund, a non-profit organization named after the former director of the Geneva School of Watchmaking.

The fund provides scholarships for watchmaking and micromechanics apprentices who face financial hardship.
Founded in 1824, l’École d’Horlogerie de Genève is among the world’s most respected institutions for horological education. Its distinguished alumni include Christophe Claret, Roger Dubuis, Franck Muller and Rexhep Rexhepi.
Since its inception, the Geneva Watch Days × Phillips in Association with Bacs & Russo charity auction has raised CHF 519,400 across four editions.
