Maurice Lacroix marks 50th anniversary in style

Celebrating 50 years of horological innovation, Maurice Lacroix has unveiled the 1975 Master Grand Date Retrograde, the brand’s 26th in-house caliber.

The new model showcases the brand’s signature “retrograde” complication, where the day hand sweeps across an arc before “flicking” back to the start at the end of the week.

This latest iteration is housed in a 42mm stainless steel case featuring a skeletonized display that reveals the sandblasted and black rhodium-treated movement.

The brand’s managing director, Stéphane Waser, said, “For more than 25 years, we have created models equipped with retrograde indications, a rare complication in the watch industry but one that has become a signature of our brand.

“On this occasion, we have chosen to unite a retrograde day display with a grand date complication, another speciality of our Maison. We have housed the movement within our 1975 model, a classical design encompassing traditional lines and featuring a retro-modern box sapphire crystal. Skilfully crafted within our Manufacture in Saignelégier, this watch delivers accessible excellence, respects our legacy and provides an insight into our vision for the future.”
