NAJ launches job seeker directory
The National Association of Jewellers (NAJ) has announced the launch of a new Jewellery Job Seeker Directory.
Jewellery professionals who are seeking work will be able to submit their details to the directory and be visible to potential employers across the industry.
The resource is intended to serve as a centralised talent pool for business searching for candidates with watch and jewellery-specific skills.
This free initiative has been set up to tackle the rise in redundancies and economic pressures on the industry, strengthening career opportunities for emerging and experienced professionals.
Currently in its beta phase, the directory will only be made accessible to employers after a sufficient number of job seekers have registered.
The NAJ says it will continue to invest in the project to support its members, their people, and the wider trade.
Chief executive, Ben Massey, said: “At a time when our industry faces workforce challenges, it is vital that we support talent staying within the trade.
“This directory is a practical step to help jewellery professionals remain visible to employers and connect employers with the skilled people they need.
“We call on trade organisations across the UK jewellery sector to share this initiative through their networks. Together we can retain and nurture the talent that underpins our industry.”
