National Retail Federation releases its Top 100 Retailers list
The National Retail Federation has announced its annual ‘Top 100 Retailers’ list, which is compiled by Kantar — one of the world’s largest market research companies.
The list focuses only on retail-specific revenues and not overall organizational revenue.
Retailers such as Macy’s, Nordstrom, Saks Global (now rebranded as ‘Exemplar Luxury Group’), QVC Group, and Signet Jewelers all made the list for 2025.
“Despite significant economic challenges over the past year, this year’s Top 100 Retailers list highlights a resilient group of companies,” said NRF chief economist and executive director of research, Mark Mathews. “They are adapting to meet changing consumer needs and leaning into new strategies and formats that set them apart.”
Macy’s 2025 sales were $2.68 billion, down -2.4% on the year before. Nordstrom’s were $14.9 billion, up +2.3% year-on-year; Saks Global’s were $8.97 billion, a reduction of -4% compared with 2024; QVC Global’s sales tumbled -7.5% to $7.07 billion; and Signet Jewelers came in at $6.2 billion, up +2.8%.
“Companies are doing quite well,” commented Kantar senior vice president of global insights and technology, David Marcotte. “We’re not seeing movement at the top of the rankings, but there is change outside of the top 20 as the mid-tier companies evolve and grow. And it’s much easier to do that in this environment than it was 20 years ago.”
