New joint leadership structure announced at two Texas jewelers

Markham Fine Jewelers, the family-owned luxury jewelry retailer based in North Texas, has appointed Raja Z. Muzaffar as its new CEO.

Announcing his appointment on LinkedIn, Muzaffar said that he will also be taking the role of CEO of Benchmark Jewelers.

The move brings shared leadership to two prominent Dallas–Fort Worth retail footprints that have historically operated in different market tiers: Markham’s high-end standalone showrooms in Frisco and Southlake, and Benchmark’s mall-focused bridal and designer locations.

Muzaffar has been at Markham Fine Jewelers for over eight years, serving as corporate vice president and chief operating officer previously.

He took his first job in the industry back in 2006 at Samuels Jewelers, and had stints at Sterling Jewelers, Zale, and Robbins Brothers before settling at Markham.

It remains to be seen whether the dual appointment indicates a formal consolidation of corporate operations or a strategic push to align backend logistics across both brands. Watch Insider has reached out to representatives for comment on how the new operational structure works.
