EXCLUSIVE: New MD bullish about future of CW Sellors
Following its acquisition earlier this month, C.W. Sellors is back to the day-to-day job of retailing, and is planning its trip to Geneva for Watches and Wonders next week.
The company had previously been placed into administration, but was rescued earlier this month by the consortium led by co-founder of Watchfinder, Stuart Hennell.
A key cog of the family business in its heyday, Rebecca Sellors, is now managing director of the Derbyshire-based jeweller. Speaking to Watch Insider, she explained what her priorities are in her new role.
“Following the acquisition of CW Sellors Group, we have been fully focused on stabilising the business as we look to the future,” she said. “A key priority has been reconnecting with our long-standing brand partners, with a clear focus on strengthening and evolving those relationships as we move forward.”
Sellors also told us that she’s looking forward to Watches and Wonders, which is coming up next week. “With Watches and Wonders around the corner, the timing couldn’t be better. It offers the ideal opportunity to discuss this new chapter and share our vision with both existing and prospective partners.”
More generally, Sellors was buoyant about the future health of the company. “Whilst our ownership may have changed, our commitment remains the same. We will continue to maintain our key high-street boutiques alongside our strong online presence.
“Our customers love that we’re an independent business where they can explore both our established watch brands and the exciting new ones we’re set to discover in Geneva.”
