New watch categories added to Inhorgenta Awards
Inhorgenta, the biggest watch and jewellery trade show in Europe outside of Geneva, is only a month and a half away, and the nomination process for its increasingly influential awards are well under way.
Celebrating its 9th edition this year, the Inhorgenta Awards 2026 will take place on Saturday February 21, for the first time at the Bavaria Film Studios in Munich.
As well as the new venue, there will also be a new watch award. Luxury Watch of the Year will be decided by a combination of a jury of seven experts (including RobertJan Broer of Fratello) and the public, via German business magazine, WirtschaftsWoche.
Only exclusively mechanical wristwatches in the price range from €5,000 to €75,000, crafted from precious materials, will be considered eligible.
“The award helps make brands, models and the people behind them more visible, beyond the professional community,” said WirtschaftsWoche’s editor-in-chief Horst von Buttlar. “I am delighted about this partnership and that we can involve our readers.”
Additionally, the watch segment will also see another two new awards: Mechanical Watch of the Year, and Watch Design of the Year (Quarz & Electronical).
The cut-off date for this year’s nominations is 1 February, and this can be done here.
