One-of-a-kind F.P. Journe raises CHF 2,750,000 for charity
An F.P. Journe Chronomètre Furtif fetched an extraordinary CHF 2,750,000 at a Christie’s charity gala dinner in Geneva, raising money for the Paris Brain Institute.
The one-of-a-kind timepiece is rafted entirely from tungsten carbide with an anthracite grey grand feu enamel dial.
To make it unique, the watch features the Paris Brain Institute’s frosted logo and a special ‘ICM-2026’ caseback engraving.
Powered by the 18k rose gold Calibre 1522 movement with direct-drive central seconds, the sale on September 29 is even more impressive given the watch’s usual retail price of around CHF 85,000.
“Through this exceptional timepiece, the brand F.P.Journe continues to embody the singular vision of its founder, François-Paul Journe, an authenticity that resonates deeply with collectors around the world,” said global head of watches at Christie’s, Remi Guillemin.
Meanwhile, vice president of the Paris Brain Institute, Jean Todt, said: “I am deeply grateful to F.P.Journe for its unwavering support of the Paris Brain Institute since its creation, and particularly for the generous donation of this unique Chronomètre Furtif.
“I would also like to warmly thank Christie’s for supporting us and for bringing its expertise and generosity to this exceptional auction.”
