Orient Star dips into 75 years of watchmaking heritage
Orient Star is celebrating its 75th anniversary this year, and is commemorating it by launching a series of 75th Anniversary Limited Edition models.
The Epson-owned watch brand has used inspiration from its own watchmaking heritage to help design the new pieces, with each one utilising distinctive materials and refined finishing.
The first one to launch will be the Orient Star M34 F8 Meteorite dial, limited to 255 pieces globally. This represents Orient Star’s first meteorite dial, crafted from rare Muonionalusta. Every watch features a unique, millions-of-years-old crystalline pattern.
The M34 F8 Full Skeleton, limited to 430 pieces, is an open-worked design with a matte black and grey gradient. The layered finish reveals the mechanical movement, inspired by the depth of space.
Next up is the M34 F7 Small Seconds, limited to 500 pieces, which features a textured sandblast dial and a deep-finished subdial. It blends classic railway track markers with modern, casual colour tones.
The M42 Diver 1964, which is limited to 660 pieces, pays tribute to the brand’s heritage, featuring a blue-grey to black gradient dial inspired by starlit night seas. It retains the original arrow hands and cut indexes.
Finally, the 1,200 piece Contemporary Date is a refined take on a signature model, updated with a simplified power reserve indicator and a subtle, nuanced dial color for a modern look.
