‘Oscars of watchmaking’ announces 2026 ceremony date
The Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève (GPHG) has announced the date of its 2026 ceremony.
The 26th edition of the ‘Oscars of watchmaking’ will take place on Saturday November 7 in Geneva at the Bâtiment des Forces Motrices.
Aiming to reward only the finest horological creations, the winners are decided by a series of rounds of voting by the GPHG Academy, alongside the Jury.
The Jury comprises 15 members of the Academy (drawn by lots) and 15 members chosen by the Jury president.
A brand must pay CHF 800 to submit a nomination and then an additional CHF 6,000–8,000 if that watch makes the final shortlist of 90.
Although Rolex, Patek Philippe, and Omega do not participate, recent winners of the coveted top prize, the Aiguille d’Or, have included powerhouse brands, such as Breguet, IWC, Audemars Piguet, MB&F, Bulgari, and Piaget.
