Parmigiani celebrates 30th birthday in style with ultra-exclusive launch
Parmigiani Fleurier is celebrating its 30th birthday by unveiling the Carillon Tourbillon, which is limited to just five pieces.
It draws inspiration from a 19th century Perrin Frères pocket watch — which founder Michel Parmigiani restored in 2000 — by adopting that piece’s signature serpentine gongs.
As is customary with Parmigiani, the watch is as uncluttered as possible, with a clean ‘Morning Blue’ hand-hammered white gold dial.
While chiming hammers are visible on the front, the tourbillon and power-reserve indicator are placed on the reverse side.
The in-house calibre delivers a 12-day power reserve and consists of 456 hand-assembled components..
The watch’s minute repeater plays a four-note melody using four distinct gongs (low for hours, high for minutes, and two separate notes for the quarters), instead of a standard two-note chime.
