Piaget revives 1970s classic

Born in 1973, Piaget’s Limelight Gala is a classic jewellery watch designed by Jean-Claude Gueit.

At the time, it flew in the face of more traditional watch geometry with its signature asymmetrical, gemstone-studded lugs.

This spring, the brand is launching two new revivals of the Limelight Gala. The Flame-Hued Extrovert features an orange Grand Feu enamel dial over gold engraved with a snake-skin texture. This ‘trompe-l’oeil’ effect is framed by a gradient of diamonds and sunset-shaded spessartite garnets.

Meanwhile, the Cognac Décor Palace is a tribute to Piaget’s 1961 signature “Décor Palace” engraving. This rose gold model uses hand-incised grooves to capture light, paired with a meticulous gradation of white to cognac diamonds.
