ProTek celebrates 250 years of the US Marine Corps with five fresh models

ProTek has released five new models created to celebrate 250 years of the US Marine Corps.

The launch consists of two models added to its existing USMC Series 1010, and an entirely new larger Series 4100 that features T100 tritium lume with the largest tritium tubes available as hour indices.

The new models feature the same unsurpassed self-powered tritium illumination that glows for 25 years, without needing a “charge” from an external light source to glow.

ProTek is the brainchild of founder and former owner of Luminox, Barry Cohen, and is designed for a core group of first responders but is now seeing more interest from general sporting consumers.

Barry Cohen, managing partner of Time Concepts, parent company of the ProTek brand, explained: “The entire Protek brand was conceived and designed in collaboration with the same designer I worked with for decades at my former brand.”

Adding: “The newest models still feature our ‘facets’ design language (cases have lots of cuts and angles like facets on a gemstone), with two in our current 42mm case size, and three new models using a new larger 45mm case with a chunkier design called The Aggressor, to fit its aggressive character.  Even so, we retained our clean, uncluttered aesthetic for classic, timeless design that will always be in style.”

Designed in Switzerland, ProTek is an American watch brand, conceived and manufactured with the best quality components available to ensure years of wear with no issues.

The new USMC dive watch series features Carbon Composite Cases with tight unidirectional ratcheting bezels, embossed stainless steel screw case backs bearing the USMC logo.

The watches are rated to 300 meters water resistance and are powered by dependable Citizen/Miyota quartz movements.

Cohen continued: “This is the same unsurpassed and enabling illumination technology I pioneered and brought to the consumer world with my former brand. We worked hard to keep the prices down – they are reasonably priced at $525 (Series 1010, models 1011SF, 1011SFC) and $595 (Series 4100) suggested retail, given the use of superior quality components throughout.”

Meanwhile, the new USMC 250th Birthday Semper Fidelis Collection is being added to the full line that has grown now to consist of 11 Series and 57 models.

The different series now offer a variety of options for consumers with specific preferences for their timepieces, with cases made of carbon, steel or titanium, a variety of straps that include genuine rubber or waterproof Italian leather, and solid link bracelets in steel or titanium, with all watches running on Japanese movements in quartz or automatic. The new Aggressor USMC models are powered by quartz movements, but USMC models are available in all variants.

He concluded: “We’re very proud that our brand has been designated an Official Watch of the U.S. Marine Corps, and the newest 250th Birthday Collection was created with this core group of elite protectors in mind, but the watches are also ideal for anyone that leads an adventurous active lifestyle, and they are terrific daily-wear knock-around timepieces.”
