Pure thoroughbred and no horseplay with Blancpain’s latest launch
Blancpain is the latest luxury watch brand that has launched a watch in acknowledgement of the Year of the Horse in the Chinese zodiac.
The Villeret Calendrier Chinois Traditionnel 2026 Edition, limited to just 50 platinum pieces and priced at $107,200, features a salmon-rose Grand-Feu enamel dial and a 22K gold rotor depicting a galloping horse treading on a flying swallow. This is a reference to the Tianma, the heavenly horse of Chinese imperial legend.
The rotor also has a natural ruby and the Chinese characters for horse and fire on it, making it visually striking as well as functional.
This new edition is an iteration of the original from 2012, when Blanpain debuted the original watch. This came with a unique combination of a complex Chinese calendar, a Gregorian date, and a moonphase.
Since then, the brand has offered a new limited edition variation each year related to the Chinese zodiac.
