Richemont legend Simon Critchell passes away
Industry stalwart Simon Critchell, who played a transformative role for Cartier in North America, has died aged 80.
Born in London, Critchell became CEO of Cartier North America between 1990–1998, having risen through the ranks at luxury perfumes and cosmetics house, Lancôme US.
During his time at Cartier, he drove a major repositioning of the brand’s wholesale and retail networks, and went on to become CEO of Richemont North America.
He eventually retired in 2006, having relocated back to London to work for Alfred Dunhill.
Critchell is survived by his wife, Renee, two children, and five grandchildren.
