Roger Dubuis adds three new watches to Excalibur offering

Roger Dubuis has updated its Excalibur offering at this year’s Watches and Wonders, releasing three new watches.

The first is the Excalibur Biretrograde Perpetual Calendar which introduces the RD850 movement.

In doing so, the new launch represents an upgraded generation of Roger Dubuis’ biretreograde perpetual calendar movements.

Delivering 60 hours of power reserve and comprising 435 components, this self-winding calibre has been developed and crafted entirely in-house at Roger Dubuis’ Geneva manufacture.

A key functional improvement compared to previous versions is the addition of a month corrector, which allows the month indication to be manually set with one simple adjustment, making regulation faster and easier while preventing over-use of the function.

At 40mm, the timepiece comes in 18K pink gold and is presented on an Astral Blue calfskin leather strap.

Next up is the Biretrograde Calendar Steel; a sport chic 40mm day date calendar in steel, featuring Roger Dubuis’ biretrograde signature display on a blue dial.

This model powered by the automatic RD840 Calibre, certified by the Poinçon de Genève.

Delivering a 60-hour power reserve, it is revealed through the sapphire caseback, a sculpted oscillating weight inspired by the Maison’s first design from 1996, reinterpreted with a contemporary edge.

The entire timepiece is crafted in 316L stainless steel, elevated through multiple finishing techniques including a mix of polishing, shot-blasting, and satin-brushing.

The Excalibur Biretrograde Calendar is completed with a multi-link bracelet in stainless steel. An additional blue rubber strap is also included with each watch, completed with a triple folding clasp in stainless steel.

Completing the new offering this week is the Roger Dubuis Excalibur Lady of the Lake.

Designed especially for women and rooted in the legend of King Arthur, this timepiece explores the many facets of a major figure: Vivane, Lady of the Lake.

Housed in a 36mm rose gold case shaped like a jewel, the caseback reveals the Calibre RD830 and its 183 components.

Roger Dubuis also worked on an open-worked oscillating weight in 22k gold. By choosing an automatic movement like the RD830, Roger Dubuis places mechanical audacity and legitimacy at the heart of its feminine timepieces.

The new piece is the latest in a line of over 20 years of watchmaking which has seen Roger Dubuis place the legend of King Arthur at the centre of Excalibur’s identity.
