Rolex with Le Mans heritage in the spotlight at Gardiner Houlgate sale

Auction house Gardiner Houlgate will be hosting a Specialist Watch sale on 24 February, with a Rolex GMT-Master 1675 wristwatch in the spotlight.

The watch was formerly owned and worn by Le Mans motor racing driver John Rulon-Miller, who passed away in 2022.

After being gifted the watch by his wife in 1974, Rulon-Miller’s GMT Master accompanied him through many years on the track and most notably during his four appearances at the iconic Le Mans 24 Hours in 1975, 1976, 1977, and 1978.

And in 1995, John became the first American-born driver to  elected Full Membership of the prestigious British Racing Drivers’ Club (BRDC).

Featuring a bi-directional bezel with ‘Pepsi’ insert, and Mercedes-style hands, the watch is estimated to go for £10,000–15,000.
