Seiko celebrates 145th anniversary with showstopping trilogy

Japanese watch brand Seiko is marking an incredible 145 years of watchmaking with the launch of three anniversary limited editions.

Each watch has been designed to reflect a significant and defining chapter in the brand’s rich history.

Leading the collection, the Seiko 145th Anniversary Limited Edition Prospex Speedtimer Two-tone Mechanical Chronograph draws inspiration from the brand’s 1972 “Panda,” reimagined with a silver-white patterned dial, gold-coloured accents and dual-curved sapphire glass. This piece is powered by an in-house 8R48 mechanical chronograph calibre with vertical clutch and column wheel.

Next up is the King Seiko 45KS Two-tone Redux, which reinterprets the 1969 chronometer-certified original. While retaining its distinctive silhouette, the new design is refined by a grey Nanako-patterned dial beneath box sapphire glass. Less than a centimetre in depth at 9.9mm, this limited King Seiko utilises the brand’s slimmest automatic in-house calibre, the 6L35.

Last but not least the Presage Classic Series Enamel ‘Timekeeper,’ inspired by Seiko’s first pocket watch from 130 years ago. This homage to the original is clear all over the design, from the gold-coloured case and Roman numerals to the hand-enamelled white dial. The automatic 6R51 calibre provides a three-day power reserve.

Priced at £1,700–£2,700, all three limited editions are available for pre-order from today at Seikoboutique.co.uk, with deliveries from February 1st.
