Seiko inspired by classic motorsport colours with new chronographs

Seiko is launching a quartet of new additions to its popular Prospex Speedtimer line, with the Prospex Speedtimer Solar Chronograph.

Inspired by the vibrant colour palettes and racing heritage of motorsport from the 60s and 70s, the latest lineup introduces four colourways: Grand Prix White, Champagne Shower, Trackside Teal, and Speedy Yellow.

All four colour variations feature hour and minute hands styled after the 1969 original, enhanced by 12 Lumibrite markers for optimal legibility in low light. A chronograph second scale and a bi-colour aluminum tachymeter bezel completes the motorsport aesthetic.

Powering each model is Seiko’s in-house V192 solar calibre, delivering an accuracy of +/-15 seconds per month alongside a six-month power reserve on a full charge.

Available for pre-order today, the new Prospex Speedtimer Solar Chronograph watches are priced at £670 / $725.
